Welcome

Calm hands, a trained eye

De Kronkelbeek is the animal osteopathy practice of Jolanda Mencke, trained at the renowned ICREO (International College for Research on Equine Osteopathy). She treats horses and ponies of every breed and size, from Shetland pony to sport horse, and dogs are very welcome too.

Osteopathy looks beyond the single symptom. Joints, muscles, fascia and organs need to move freely; where that movement is lost, the body compensates, until something starts to give elsewhere. Using gentle manual techniques, complemented with acupressure where useful, Jolanda helps restore the body’s natural balance.

Treatments

What can we help with?

Every treatment starts with a thorough examination of the whole animal, and ends with clear advice for home.

Equine osteopathy

For ridden problems, stiffness, irregular gaits, changes in behaviour or recurring injuries, and preventively, before small restrictions become complaints.

Canine osteopathy

For dogs that rise stiffly, no longer want to jump, react to touch, or are recovering from injury, from puppy to senior.

Acupressure

Centuries-old pressure-point therapy that relaxes, supports circulation and reinforces the osteopathic treatment, no needles involved.

Small signals, big difference

Animals hide discomfort for a long time. It’s the small changes, in movement, posture or behaviour, that tell the first part of the story.

In horses

  • Stiffness, crookedness or difficulty bending
  • Refusing canter transitions or picking the wrong lead
  • Resistance when grooming, saddling or girthing
  • Irregular gaits without a clear cause
  • Bucking, headshaking or sudden changes in behaviour
  • Disappointing performance, recurring injuries
All signals in horses

In dogs

  • Rising stiffly after rest
  • No longer jumping into the car or onto the sofa
  • Difficulty with stairs, less enthusiasm for walks
  • Pain reaction to brushing or touch
  • Limping, crooked movement, dragging paws
  • Restlessness, anxiety or changed behaviour
All signals in dogs

Good to know: osteopathy complements veterinary care, it never replaces it. For acute complaints such as colic, fever or wounds, always contact your veterinarian first.
